Contact and subscription details: your email address when you sign up for planting calendars or updates, and your name, email and message when you use our contact form.

Payment information: when you buy a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive confirmation of payment and a limited record (such as plan and date).

Garden and app data: the plants, beds, harvests and settings you enter in the app. This is stored on your device and, if you choose to sign in, synced to our cloud so you can use it across devices.

Usage data: standard analytics (via Google Analytics) such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location from your IP address. We use Google reCAPTCHA on our forms to prevent spam, which collects device and usage signals under Google's terms.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and improve the service, reply to your enquiries, deliver the planting calendars and emails you have asked for, process and manage your subscription, keep your garden data synced, protect the site from spam and abuse, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us run Planting Season, including: Stripe (payment processing), Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA), our email and CRM provider, and our website hosting provider. Some of these providers process data overseas, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information. Each has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to remember your preferences (such as your region). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling them may affect some features.

How we store and keep your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it. Garden data you create stays until you delete it or close your account.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email. You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by using our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, in New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Children

Planting Season is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
